by my diverse professional experiences, both in Germany and
locally. Originally from Germany, I was trained as a nurse (providing
also psychiatric care), and in pastoral/spiritual care. Here in
Maine, I have experience in bereavement counseling (at Hospice of
Southern Maine), and psychotherapy (at the Employee Assistance Program
at LL Bean/Freeport and other facilities. For each individual, the process of counseling
starts with creation of a safe and nonjudgmental space that can foster
growth and healing. Areas of clinical interest include: anxiety, depression, mood
disorders, life transitions, chronic diseases, relationship struggles,
losses, trauma, PTSD, and grief. My treatment modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,
Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and others, as appropriate. In particular,
my work with children often incorporates play therapy or sand tray
therapy.
Leah Marshall, LCPC-C, NCC Ext.44
Leah is a clinician working with adults who believes that each person has the ability for insight, growth, and healing. Each of us is influenced by our early life experiences, and we often find ourselves with ways of thinking and behaving that are no longer serving us well in different areas of our life, including love and family relationships, friendships, and at work. With the focus of therapy being on a better understanding of oneself and working together toward resolution of each person’s concerns, Leah provides an open and collaborative place for clients to explore ways of changing and to learn healthier ways of coping by becoming aware of and making connections between our thoughts, our behaviors, and how we feel physically and emotionally. She has worked with clients struggling with trauma histories, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships, domestic abuse, anger, medical problems, women’s issues (including infertility, perimenopause, and menopause), and stage-of-life challenges.

Over the past 12 years, the bulk of Greg’s work has been with children, adolescents and their families, but his interest extends into working with adults on issues of depression, anxiety, relational stresses/problems and life transitions. Greg incorporates cognitive behavioral and insight oriented techniques into his solution-focused base, tailoring his approach to the specific needs of each client.
Greg is currently accepting new clients for individual and family therapy. He accepts most insurance plans.
